An established, purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation is seeking a senior, commercially focused P&C Business Partner a to provide trusted advice and practical support to leaders across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
Working closely with senior leaders and the broader People & Culture team, you will help translate organisational priorities into effective people initiatives. This is a hands-on partnering role requiring sound judgement, strong relationship skills and the confidence to navigate complex employee matters while maintaining a constructive, solutions-focused approach.
The Opportunity
You will partner with leaders through change, growth and organisational transformation to build workforce capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness and support a positive, inclusive and accountable culture. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing trusted advice and coaching to leaders on people, culture and workforce matters
  • Supporting organisational change, workforce planning and the implementation of new ways of working
  • Managing employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations
  • Interpreting relevant legislation, Modern Awards, enterprise agreements, policies and employment conditions
  • Supporting talent, succession, performance and capability-development initiatives
  • Using workforce data and insights to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement
  • Contributing to the delivery of broader People & Culture projects and organisational priorities
  • Building strong relationships across a complex, multi-site operating environment
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and values-aligned employee experience
About You
You will be an experienced People & Culture practitioner who brings pace, sound judgement and pragmatic people solutions to a purpose-led environment. Combine your contemporary HR knowledge with a pragmatic and commercially aware approach. You are comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels and can adapt your style to engage effectively with executives, operational leaders and employees.
Ideally, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in a People & Culture Business Partner or comparable role
  • Experience within a large, complex not-for-profit, community services, social services, health, disability, aged care, housing or similarly regulated environment
  • Strong employee relations and case-management capability
  • Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial instruments and contemporary P&C practices
  • Experience supporting organisational change, workforce planning and capability initiatives
  • The confidence to challenge constructively, influence decisions and coach leaders
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills
  • A practical, responsive and solutions-focused working style
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, employee relations, business or a related discipline
Experience in the not-for-profit sector is strongly preferred, particularly within an organisation operating across multiple locations and balancing commercial discipline with a clear social purpose.
