This respected not-for-profit organisation plays an important role in advancing community outcomes through advocacy, education and support. With an annual operating budget of approximately $4 million and a dedicated leadership team, the organisation is entering a period of renewal and strategic focus.
We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead a small, capable team and shape the company’s profile through innovative campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and brand excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic direction with day-to-day execution. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Team, the position provides commercial oversight of the marketing budget, manages external contractors and agencies, and ensures cohesive delivery across digital, print, events, and media.
You will lead the review and optimisation of key marketing contracts while maintaining creative and brand integrity across all channels. With a hybrid and flexible structure, the role suits a Melbourne-based leader who values teamwork, cohesion, and visible leadership.

- Drive national campaigns, major events, and media engagement aligned with the company’s strategic plan.
- Oversee digital and media engagement, ensuring clarity and consistency of message.
- Manage internal and external communications during a period of change.
- Support advocacy, fundraising and partnership initiatives with clear, audience-focused content.
- Guide and mentor a small, capable team and external suppliers.

- Proven experience in communications and marketing leadership, ideally within the NFP or public sector.
- Strong strategic, writing and stakeholder skills, with the ability to operate hands-on when needed.
- A collaborative, values-aligned approach and the judgement to balance purpose with pragmatic delivery.
- A commercial mindset with clear evidence of budget management.
- Strong editorial standards across web, social, and print publications.
