Partnering with Skyline Education Foundation

By Jennifer Galvin-Rowley

Galvin Rowley Executive is pleased to announce our pleasure in partnering with Skyline Education Foundation in the recent appointment of Jane Sydenham-Clark to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Jane Sydenham-Clarke came to the Chief Executive Officer’s role at Skyline Education Foundation having led award winning teams with particular interest in innovative approaches to enabling change through engaging with communities and creating meaningful experiences to develop a sense of belonging and purpose. Of specific focus for Jane is new media and its contribution to building brand and community.

In her recent role as the Chief Executive Officer at Freemasons Victoria she led a talented team building strategy to reposition brand, attract and retain membership, enhance capacity for compassion and strengthen the organisation to enable change for a contemporary community. Prior to this as at Federation Square for close to ten years, her portfolios encompassed Events, Creative, Multimedia, Education, Marketing, Health/Wellbeing and Tourism; and through these channels she placed high priority on place making, community capacity building and enabling inspirational experiences for community.

Previously she was the Director of her own consultancy company lconica Pty Ltd specializing in social marketing and communications for various public authorities and corporations; and prior, as both Precinct and Marketing Manager at Southgate Arts and Leisure Precinct, she led a team across cultural, tourism, retail and property management. While as Marketing and Communications Manager at the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation her focus was on sports and arts sponsorship, media and communications to effect mass cultural change.

She came to these roles as a general and psychiatric nurse with academic qualifications from Monash University – BA (Hons) Sociology/Gender Studies and MA Communications. Jane is Deputy Chair of the Judges Panel, Victorian Tourism Awards and has been a member of the national Judges Panel. She is a company director, and a graduate of both the Institute of Company Directors and Leadership Victoria. Previous community contributions have included Chair Health Issues Centre and Committee of Management Centre for Grief Education.

Testimonial from Katrina Reynen, Chair, Skyline Education Foundation

“As the Chair of a small but growing not for profit organisation, I was acutely aware that we needed to attract an outstanding executive candidate who could take our board’s vision forward. But the recruitment of a CEO is not an activity you get a lot of experience in, even though the task was about our future success. Jen Gavin Rowley conducted a thorough executive search for us, identified a number of excellent candidates and screened them carefully to ensure that our culture, values and experience were aligned. Jen is a consumate professional and extremely empathetic and took the time we needed to truly understand our candidates and conduct a high quality interview process and presentation to the board. She provided our selection panel with a report featuring thorough background information and insightful assessment of each candidate, such that we felt fully supported with, yet in control, of the whole process.”

Through her positive impression on the Directors, Jen is now one of the Skyline family of supporters and I have no hesitation in recommending Galvin Rowley to any organisation like Skyline seeking to attract outstanding candidates.
