As part of their evolving assurance strategy, we are seeking a Senior Assurance Manager to join their Internal Audit team. Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, and reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, you will play a key leadership role in maintaining and enhancing the group’s assurance and internal audit framework.

As part of their evolving assurance strategy, we are seeking a Senior Assurance Manager to join their Internal Audit team. Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, and reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, you will play a key leadership role in maintaining and enhancing the group’s assurance and internal audit framework.
About the Opportunity
In this influential role, you will:
- Lead and execute assurance activities within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
- Manage a portfolio of internal audits under a risk-based annual audit plan, ensuring quality delivery, timeliness, and alignment with organisational objectives.
- Build strong, trusted partnerships across the organisation to champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and commercial risk management.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including executive leadership and the Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee.
- Mentor and develop a professional team of auditors, promoting technical excellence and leadership succession.
- Integrate third-party assurance providers under a cohesive, ‘one team’ delivery model.
- Deliver value-added insights that drive tangible improvements to internal controls, process optimisation, and governance standards.
You will bring:
- 7–12 years’ experience delivering Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Business Assurance services, ideally within large, complex, consumer or retail-oriented environments.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier Chartered Accounting firm (highly regarded).
- Relevant professional qualifications (CA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent).
- Strong commercial acumen combined with sound judgement in assessing control effectiveness.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
- A natural ability to operate effectively in areas of ambiguity, assessing diverse risks while balancing commercial realities.
- A passion for continuous improvement and a proactive approach to leadership development within the team.
- Strategic Impact: Directly influence assurance practices in a major Australian organisation poised for continued growth and innovation.
- Visibility and Influence: Present at the executive and Board Committee level, shaping decision-making and governance outcomes.
