This newly created, permanent Payroll & HR Officer position based in the inner West of Melbourne is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll officer who is looking to utilise their experience or upskill into HR in this hybrid role with a well-established and successful manufacturing business.
This opportunity could be part-time 3 days per week with a view to growing into a full-time opportunity, or full-time from day one. Your primary focus will be the entire payroll for the small-medium sized organisation, alongside this the role will include HR administration and supporting the HR Manager with related tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Award interpretation, up-to-date payroll/HR legislation knowledge (Fair Work Act, LSL, employment law) and the ability to effectively respond to queries from the business relating to these areas
- Knowledge of PAYG tax, superannuation guarantee and STP
- End-to-end full function processing of payroll for all employees across the business on a weekly and monthly basis
- Processing of timely superannuation, keeping in line with current legislation to ensure compliance
- Work Cover administration and premium processing
- New starter creation, employee record updates and terminations
- Working within and maintaining up to date payroll procedures
- Competently answering employee payroll queries
- Preparation of payroll reporting
Requirements:
- Full end-to-end payroll experience essential
- Experience of running weekly and monthly payrolls, ideally from within an Australian manufacturing business
- Demonstrable experience of working with payroll systems (ideally Attaché or MS Dynamics)
- An understanding of HR administration in relation to new starters for payroll system setup
- Exceptionally high levels of attention to detail
- Efficient time management in working to payroll deadlines
- Initiative and problem-solving skills
- Strong skills of working with MS Office products
