Our client has 17 global offices and 265 staff across Australia, Canada, UK, NZ and USA.
As COO, your role will be to lead and grow the Australian business as it scales its business in Australia and overseas including being responsible for achieving optimal engagement, growth and service standards, while delivering on the 2025 growth plans and adhering to the vision, values and brand promise.
We are looking to identify an exemplary and entrepreneurial leader, who has the skills and experience to lead the daily operations of the Australian business ensuring effective overall operations and performance through delivering a high standard of customer service, as well as identifying new growth opportunities.
Managing a workforce of 160 people (which is expected to double by 2025), you will create a highly engaged and high-performing culture that puts people first and leads through values as well as understanding the role the Australian business plays within the global company. The COO will be accountable to the Global CEO (and owner) and will form part of the global leadership team.
We are looking to appoint an individual who uses entrepreneurial thinking to lead the development and execution of short and long-term strategies and tactical programs designed to meet growth targets with the ability to set clear annual operating plans and ensures key performance goals are in place and that team structures are effective. You will maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry developments and actively identify, develop and execute new markets/regions, products or services. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key external partner's including clients to ensure high service standards have been delivered as well as develop a strong network with industry stakeholders and organisations and government departments. In addition you will manage high performance of the Australian senior leadership team and functional needs ensuring individual accountability and functional operational excellence as well as cross-functional collaboration.
Your ability to identify, attract, leverage and retain talent through inspiring and creating an engaging workplace; investing in development, building capability and succession planning as well as instil a winning mindset aligned with company values will be a key part of the role.
In addition, you will oversee organisational marketing, collaborating closely with the marketing team and global stakeholders to deliver documented and coordinated plans locally, aligned with global marketing strategies.
Partnering with the development team on local technical and system needs overseeing key investments in infrastructure as well as being accountable for end-to-end compliance, governance and risk management of the business.
The Person
It is expected the successful candidate will have a combination of skills and experience including top tier consulting environment experience with a focus on Innovation and/or Entrepreneurship as well as a senior leadership role within Workforce Management, Professional Services and/or Recruitment environment. You will need to demonstrate experience growing or scaling a service business at GM or COO level. You will have the ability to work with an owner or family owned business, experience working in start-ups. Degree qualifications are essential.
