Job Description
Reporting to the CFO and Company Secretary, the newly created role of Finance Manager will suit a qualified Accountant with a flair and passion for process and system implementation. As part of a small and growing company, we are looking to identify candidates with a great can-do attitude, happy to roll up your sleeves in the early days and have the capacity to grow with the organisation.
A natural leader, you will have one direct report (Accounts Officer/Bookeeper) and broadly, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of monthly financial and management reports, including profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet
- Implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Implementation of cost accounting, including development of Bill of Materials for new products
- Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging, machines and finished goods
- Monitoring cost variances including production overheads, labour costs and raw materials
- Sales reporting and analysis
- Preparation of quarterly reporting to the ASX
- Preparation of BAS, payroll tax
- Work with auditors on half year and year end audits
- Cash management
- Debt management and collections
- Assist with preparation of yearly budget and quarterly reforecasts
- Process payroll for approximately 30 staff
- Maintain fixed asset register
- KPI analysis reporting
- Degree qualified in Finance or Accounting and CA/CPA qualified
- Three to five years’ experience working in a similar role
- Small/medium sized business or background in audit
- Very strong technical financial accounting skills
- Strong analytical skills and good financial modelling skills
- Experience in manufacturing organisation with a cost accounting focus
- ASX experience highly regarded but not essential
This role will ideally suit a professional with strong technical accounting skills and a commercial thinker; with the ability to deliver work to tight deadlines and manage workflow in a calm focussed manner.
The role can be based in either Queensland or Victoria and must be comfortable working remotely, particularly if you are not in Brisbane/Sunshine Coast or Melbourne.
