Following eight years of outstanding leadership, the current Windana CEO is working with the Board to ensure a seamless transition of executive leadership. The Board seeks to appoint a highly capable, energetic, empathic, and inspiring leader to this critically important community health care organisation.
The newly appointed CEO will lead the organisation’s next phase which will focus on the consolidation of the past eight years of growth, to reflect the commitment to the client experience and operational excellence, leading with compassion and embodying the values of Windana and its mission to helping people rebuild their lives with a focus on delivering a caring, quality service.
Reporting to a dedicated and highly skilled Board, the CEO will lead a committed team to manage and build on the organisation’s capability and capacity to deliver outstanding integrated services, aligned with the organisation’s values, ethos, and commitments. A key aspect of the role will be to nurture and create robust and strategic partnerships with the AOD sector, all levels of government, donors, and philanthropic organisations, as well as key stakeholders in the broader NFP sector.
The successful candidate may have a background in AOD, Community Health or the broader Health sector with a record of leading a multidisciplinary workforce and integrated services at CEO or GM level. As a contemporary leader who is inspiring and visionary, you will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and have the proven ability to engage collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to foster a reputation of inclusiveness, quality, and trust. The appointee will be strategic, will have strong commercial acumen, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Stigma is a huge barrier to people accessing the help they need, and the CEO will be committed to challenging and advocating for change in public policy and public discourse, in line with Windana’s strategic plan.
This is a prime opportunity for a dynamic leader to consolidate and further develop a thriving organisation and firmly position it for a vibrant future. It will suit a leader whose values are aligned to relationships built on authenticity, honesty, and respect.
Since 1984, Windana has helped thousands of people recover from the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol and make meaningful change to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
Windana provides holistic, evidence-based services tailored to each person’s unique situation, wherever they may be on their recovery journey. These include residential withdrawal services, residential rehabilitation and a suite of community-based services. We work in and across sectors to improve and refine treatment services and increase community understanding to eliminate the stigma around drug and alcohol dependence, treatment and recovery.
Over the past eight years of strong growth including the expansion of our existing services and the opening of a new therapeutic community in Ballarat, Australia’s first Welcome House at our Maryknoll Therapeutic Community, and a new Therapeutic Community due to open in Geelong later this year, our focus is on consolidation of these facilities and services and to continue exploring new growth opportunities. There are also several capital development programs underway, ensuring our sites can continue providing the holistic services we are known for.
