Galvin-Rowley Executive understands the importance of the National Privacy Principals (Privacy Act 1988) and is committed to ensuring the privacy of personal information. The following Company Privacy Policy Statement outlines how we appropriately manage and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Our primary business function

Galvin-Rowley Executive is an Executive Search and Recruitment consultancy. The collection, management and use of personal information is crucial to the successful running of our business and delivery of service to our clients and candidates alike.

How is personal information collected?

The type of personal information which may be collected by Galvin-Rowley Executive is generally sourced directly from you, either from details provided by you in your application or resume, or from your direct discussions and correspondence with Galvin-Rowley Executive’s consultants.

Personal Information may include:

• Name
• Mailing address
• Telephone number(s)
• E-mail address
• Career history
• Details of any competency tests, and qualifications
• Reference checks
• Other information relating to your education, career or personal interests.
• Bank details and Tax File Number (for contracting assignments)

There may however, in some circumstances, be occasions where we obtain personal information from a third party; examples might include a nominated referee; when receiving result of any psychological or competency assessments; or obtaining performance feedback about your work.

In the event of your application for employement being unsuccessful, we will retain your personal details on file in case more suitable opportunities arise unless otherwise requested by you.

If you do not provide us with the information we require we may be limited in our ability to provide you with our services.

We collect personal information for any one or more of the following purposes:

• Assisting you with an inquiry regarding employment, career development or recruitment prospects
• Assisting you in finding employment or registering your interest in employment opportunities in the future
• Assessing and managing applications for employment or recruitment assignments
• Facilitating your recruitment to one of our clients
• Establishing or maintaining a relationship with you as either a client or potential candidate

How is personal information used?

We may disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it is primarily held or for a related secondary purpose. We may disclose your personal information to:

• Potential employers
• Organisations that provide psychometric testing or other employment competency testing
• Referees
• As directed by law or complying with statutory obligations
• Enhance the services that Galvin-Rowley Executive provides to you.

If a third party contractor is engaged by us to perform duties that involve the handling of personal information we shall take all reasonable steps to prohibit the contractor from using personal information except for the purposes for which it was supplied.

Access to Personal Information

Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles, you can gain access to the personal information that we hold about you by written request. Access may be denied however if it would interfere with another person’s right to privacy or would breach any confidentiality which is attached to that information.

Requests to provide information will be undertaken within a reasonable timeframe; we may also seek payment for costs of supplying this information to you.

Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that your information is as accurate as possible. If your personal information changes please contact us and we will endeavour to amend or correct our information. We may also contact you form time to time to check on the accuracy of information.

We may refuse to amend, delete or change your personal information and we will provide you with a reason for such a decision. We will however, make note of what information you dispute and your requested amendments.

Security of personal information

Personal information may be stored in hardcopy format or electronically, and we have security procedures in place to protect this information.

Galvin-Rowley Executive cannot accept responsibility for the security of information while it is being transmitted over the Internet.

Review of this policy

This policy document is for your general information only and is not intended to limit, change, or dispute any part of the Privacy Act (1988). This policy may be reviewed and amended from time to time to respond to the changing environment in which Galvin-Rowley Executive operates, including any legislative changes and technological advancements.
